Another KEY thing to take into account when booking a vacation at Bull Shoals is to inquire if the lake resort has a boat dock. The reason this is so important is because docks are regulated heavily on the lake so many resorts actually do not have their own dedicated dock, or any dock at all. This is a big deal if you are planning to bring a boat on your vacation because pulling your boat in and out of the water everyday is a real hassle and can really ruin your vacation. While these dock restrictions can be a hassle in finding a great lake resort to stay at, they are also the reason that the lake has kept so much of its natural beauty because people cant build houses close to the lake and there are a fixed amount of dock permits that are given by the Missouri conservation department so the lake has been spared from large scale commercial building.
